Categories we use
We keep our use of cookies deliberately narrow. Depending on the pages you visit, the following categories may apply:
- Strictly necessary — enable core functions such as page navigation, form submission, security and load balancing, and remember your cookie preference. These cannot be switched off through the site because the site cannot work without them. Typically session-length or up to twelve months.
- Performance and analytics — help us understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where they leave, in aggregate. We use this to improve our content. These are optional. Typically up to twenty-four months.
- Functional — remember preferences such as a dismissed banner or a chosen view, so you are not asked repeatedly. Optional. Typically up to twelve months.
- Third-party embeds — where a page includes an embedded video, map or social component, that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. We include such embeds sparingly.
What we do not do
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting or cross-site behavioural profiling, and we do not sell or share cookie data with advertising networks or data brokers.
We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from analytics data, and we do not combine analytics data with the personal data you provide in an enquiry form to build a profile of you.
Server logs
Independently of cookies, our servers record standard technical information for every request — IP address, timestamp, page requested, referrer, browser and device type. These logs are used for security, fraud prevention, diagnostics and aggregate traffic measurement, and are retained for a limited period. They are not used to identify individuals except where necessary to investigate a security incident or to comply with a legal obligation.
Your choices
Where a cookie is not strictly necessary, we rely on your consent, and you may withdraw it at any time. You always retain full control at the browser level:
- Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data.
- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Block all cookies, and Manage Website Data.
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions › Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
- Mobile browsers — the equivalent options under Settings › Privacy.
How this relates to your personal data
Where cookie data can be linked to you, it is personal data and is handled under our Privacy Policy, including the rights of access, correction and erasure described there.
Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change the cookies we use, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Please check back periodically.
